Hello There! Welcome to Finals Week.

Hi Wonderful Students...

Finals week is upon us (GHS and LHS). For GHS: Plan on being here in S4 on Thursday from 10:20 to 12:20 and on Friday from 8:00 to 10:00. I will need a note or call from a parent if there will be any absence on either day.

For LHS, FHS, AVHS and DHS: I will give you the final on Wednesday, 3/2. I will need a note or call from a parent if there will be any absences that day.

INFORM YOUR SITES - GHS AND LHS - OUT FROM SITE 3/2 TO 3/7 - BACK ON 3/8.

Please see me if you have not been able to complete the CATEMA process. If you took an ROP class last year, you may already be enrolled in the LPC system. I will help you with this on my computer in the classroom. Please make sure you have your SS# memorized. Thank you to all who have completed the enrollment and checked off the section regarding my class. It's okay if it says "pending". That is correct. After I put in your grade, it will turn into college credit!

The resume's look great. Some of you did not turn in a draft of your resume on 2/23. Please bring this to me on 3/2 ! Thank you to those who turned it in, I have given you credit.

GOING TO THE 4/16 CMAA MEDICAL EDUCATION DAY? This Wednesday is the deadline for the registration discount. I will still take registrations after 3/2 (then the cost will be $25 instead of $20).

NEED CC HOURS? I have one, two, three and four hour projects that can be done at home. How about attending the 3/19 or 4/16 CMAA meetings? Just let me know and I'll be happy to help.

Have a great evening.

April 2011 is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), Tri-Valley Haven is participating in a National Day of Action, on April 5th 2011. This Day of Action is called “It’s Time…To Get Involved”. We are urging everyone to update their Facebook Profile Picture on or before this day with a picture of themselves with a clock, and that each person post ways that they can get involved in their own community to end sexual violence. I will bring suggestions for posts for the students on March 2nd. They can also create their own post. Tri-Valley Haven will have a information/ prevention table at Las Positas College and at Hacienda Crossing in Dublin (time TBA) where we will pass out information about this Day of Action and other materials from the Tri-Valley Haven RCC. I would love to have 2 – 5 students help me each shift at these tables. The shifts will likely be from 10 am – 1 pm and from 1 – 4pm. Christine from Tri-Valley Haven will bring exact details on March 2nd when she visits the classroom.

See you tomorrow - bring your time sheet and homework!

Explorers & CATEMA Update - Have you registered???

Hi Everyone,

I have the following folks signed up for the Medical Explorers Meeting on Tuesday Night 2/22 - 5575 West Las Positas - Cafeteria area/Conference Room

JAMIE, KAMAL, NAMEETA, MARYSOL, ALISHA R., RENEE, RACHEL, KACEY, HANNAH, AMANDA, ELISSA, ASHLEY, RAJDEEP, ANNETTE, PARAM (MR. PRESIDENT) AND CYNTHIA.

****REMEMBER TO RSVP - TEXT OR CALL ME IF YOU ARE (OR ARE NOT) GOING! Thank you!

I know there has been some confusion, but this should help. Thank you to those who have registered. Use the handout that was given to you in class.

Please read the directions carefully. This needs to be done quickly. REMEMBER- THERE IS A Period 2 and a Period 4. AM: P2 PM: P4

I moved Lexi B., Haley and Rajdeep from P2 to P4 already! Everyone else that has registered already looks good.

Students: Go to catema.net, select Las Positas and generate your user name and password based on your personal information (name, birthday, high school, year of graduation). You will also need your social security number - that is how LPC tracks students. CATEMA creates a user name and password based on your name, high school and social security number. When you sign in for the 2nd time, you can opt to change their user name and password. Choose something you will remember or keep the original. Once the user name has been generated you are prompted to select your high school, teacher's name and then the class period, and there are two possibilities. MED OCCS: AM= P2 PM= P4. You also need to apply online to Las Positas College for the Spring 2011 semester. An LPC transcript is necessary to "hold" your credits. You will then own college credits and the end of the year if you pass with an A or a B!

Please contact me if you have ANY concerns about the CATEMA registration. Thank you !

Have a great weekend.

Mrs. Erceg

Thanks so much!

Hi Everyone-

You did a great job with your journals and the time sheets all came in...again! (If you are absent, please call in your hours to the classroom phone)

Thank you Armaity, Amanda, Karissa and Krishna for being fabulous classroom managers today!

Regarding the CATEMA website, hold off on any more registrations until I announce information on the blog. I will look into the instructions and ID numbers.

For the next online assignment, keep an eye on the blog for the one due 2/23. Also for 2/23 have a handwritten or typed draft of YOUR resume', not a sample. Do you need help? Contact me and I will work with you. I don't mind. After all, this is your future we're talking about!

If you ever have to leave your other classes for ANYTHING related to Medical Occupations, i.e.; observations, etc. Please call me right away. A special form has to be signed by teachers, parents, school personnel and myself.

Haley.....Thank you for the pecan bread. It's fabulous!

Please REGISTER for the CMAA Medical Education Day on 4/16 or give the forms to your site. Thank you!!!!

Have a great evening and keep checking the blog!

Hello Medical Professionals !

Hi Everyone ~

We are working on medical terminology and portfolio (resume) tomorrow. Please be ready with your sample resume. NextGen users: Please sign up with me tomorrow regarding training material development.

HOMEWORK:

Please print out a sample resume from www.about.com (student or entry-level) or bring in a copy of one you have already done. Please don't say...."I forgot".

Remember to go on to the CATEMA website and create your account and follow the directions on the form I gave you. For those absent, see me about this tomorrow. Everyone else should be done. Please don't say...."I forgot".

NOTE: There is a "Period 2" class and a "Period 4" class. If you are in the afternoon class, use the "Period 4" option. If you have already registered, stand by for more instructions.

Some folks are forgetting....you must call in to me for every absence from site. I have had seven incidents this week approaching a supervisor and being told my student was not there. Please don't say...."I forgot".

Do you see a pattern forming? I'm trying to send a message that the words "I forgot" don't go over well with an employer....or me! Keep your calendar up to date and review it daily so you and your supervisor know about your days off from school and special events! (Like 2/18 and 2/21) Check your CC binder and do some advance planning to inform me and your site of any changes in schedule. Thank you.

It's Wednesday tomorrow....and I look forward to seeing all of you!
